Ralph Nelson Evans

West Post Office-Ralph Nelson Evans, 84 of West Post Office near Princess Anne died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his home. Born in Bridgeville, Delaware on October 4, 1929 he was a son of the late Walter C. Evans and Virginia Mae Riggin Evans

Ralph was a US Navy veteran who served on the USS Power from 1947 to 1951 and the USS Forrestal from 1958 to 1962. Ralph retired from Suburban Propane in 1991 after 28 years of service. He was the Post Commander of American Legion Post 94 in Princess Anne from 1979 to 1981. Ralph was elected to the Somerset County Board of Licensing in June of 1991 for two years.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norma Lee Evans, his sons, Samuel E. Evans and his wife Pam of Charleston, SC and Raymond N. Evans and his wife Traci of Dover Delaware, his stepson, Randy Brummitt and his wife Linda of Princess Anne, Two brothers, Riley W. "Bunk" Evans of Princess Anne and Theodore "Ted Evans of Salisbury, 8 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Late Brothers and sisters were, Willis Evans, Roger Evans, Royce Evans, Stanley Evans, Russell Evans, Creston Evans, Louis Evans, Helen Sargent, Betty Elkins, Rachel Meyer, and Shelby Evans.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will be held in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
