Alice H. Waller Obituary
Alice H. Waller

Midlothian, VA - Alice H. Waller, wife of Reuben J. Waller Jr. passed away at home in Midlothian, Virginia at age 71 on September 8, 2018. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Harley of Danville, Virginia; brother, Major Lee Harley USAF, MIA Laos (presumed dead) and an infant son, Jonathan H. Waller. She is survived by Reuben; daughter, Elizabeth of Vermont; son, James and wife Tina of Tennessee and a sister, Lydia Warren and husband Douglas of Radford, Virginia.

Alice was a graduate of UNC-Greensboro majoring in Early Childhood Development and Family Relations. She worked in the Head Start program in 1969 followed by 24 years as a teacher of two-years-olds at Winfree Baptist Church preschool. She was not only a teacher of children, but a teacher of teachers as well. The loss of her brother in 1966 and Jonathan in 1978, had a profound impact on Alice in the study of death, dying, grief and bereavement which led her to work with family members of both deceased children and adults.

A devout Christian in every aspect, worked tireless hours at Huguenot Road Baptist Church teaching, volunteering, organizing and ministering to those from all walks of life. Alice will be missed by all who knew her.

A service will be held at Salisbury Bible Fellowship off Pine Bluff Rd. on Friday September 14 at 2 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend the interment directly following at Parsons Cemetery and a gathering thereafter at the old Polar Bar.
