Pittsville - Bonnie Sue Core, 75, of Pittsville, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 5, 2018.

She was born November 16, 1942 in Richmond, Virginia, a daughter of the late Mervin and Ernestine (Hudson) Pilchard.

Bonnie worked several places as an administrative assistant before opening Little Rascals Daycare where she loved caring for and teaching children. She enjoyed traveling, especially to her favorite spots, Ocean City and Smith Beach in Virginia. Other hobbies included shopping, gardening and reading. Bonnie couldn't resist a good murder mystery on television or a good glass of wine. She had a soft spot in her heart for animals and was especially fond of her cats and dogs. Her family will remember her as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.

She is survived by daughters, Susan Lee Downes and husband Tommy of Salisbury and Lisa Moskov and husband Mike of Pittsville; step-daughter, Karen Smith of Salisbury; grandchildren, Ashley, Brian and Cameron Downes, Tyler, Katie and Connor Moskov and Chip and Chuck Smith; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Aubrey, Alayna, Ava and Carter; a close friend who was like a daughter to her, Bobbi Hochmuth of Eden; sister, Gayle Stahl and husband Michael of Indiana; and a niece, Michelle Porter Clark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" D. Core; a daughter who passed as an infant, Theresa; and a sister, Gloria Porter.

Services will be private at the request of her family.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Wicomico County, 5130 Citation Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
