Clarks Summit, PA - Charlotte Anne Parsons Spory, age 88, died on Saturday, June 30th surrounded by family at her home in Clarks Summit. She was born in Salisbury, MD to Benjamin Franklin and Eva Marie (Taylor) Parsons on October 20th , 1929. She was married to John (Jack) W. Spory for 68 years. She was a member of the Rainbow Girls and attended Goldey Business College after graduating from Wicomico High School in 1946. Her first job was at Commercial Credit and Motors Insurance, Salisbury, and she then worked for three years at the University of Delaware in Newark. She worked for Sears for 19 years until her retirement. Charlotte was active in church and civic work in the various places that she lived. She was a deacon at the Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, NY; Treasurer of Church Women United in Glens Falls; and Co-President of the Queensbury, NY, PTA for two years. She served as Vice-Moderator of the Women's Association at First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit and enjoyed being a member of the Dorcas Circle there. She was part of a church quilting group, My Brother's Keeper, where she joined in sewing quilts for homeless persons. She also enjoyed actively taking part in the Sears Retirement Club of Scranton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, who died on June 4 th , 2018, as well as by her older brothers, Marion and Richard Parsons, both of Salisbury, MD. Charlotte was a devoted and beloved mother to her four children. Survivors include her sons J. Michael Spory and wife Pat of Front Royal, VA, Steven Spory and wife Lisa of Honesdale, PA; Richard Spory and wife Rose of Scranton, PA; and a daughter, Penny Spory and her husband Joseph Sepe of Newfoundland, PA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Ben, Matthew, Emily, Olivia, Steven, David and Jennifer Spory, Beth Whitney, Jessica Chaya, and Joseph and Jonathan Sepe; six great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Elise Whitney, Johnathan and Aubrey Spory, Addison Sepe, and Margaret Chaya; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6 th at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St, to be celebrated by the Rev. William Carter, pastor. Interment will follow at Clarks Green Cemetery, where Jack's ashes will also be interred at the gravesite.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremations Services Inc.
