Clark B. Spicer Sr.

LAUREL—Clark B. Spicer Sr., 74, of Laurel, Del., passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Clark was born in Lewes, a son of the late Elmer J. and Lottie H. Spicer.

Clark proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He later retired from the DuPont Co. in Seaford, where he worked as a spinning machine operator. He was past grand master of Masonic Hope Lodge 4 of Laurel. Clark enjoyed his family and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed and could be found at many flea markets searching for treasures across Delmarva. He never met a stranger and was genuinely interested in getting to know you, with his "heart of gold."

Mr. Spicer is survived by his wife, Mildred C. Spicer of Laurel; his sons, Clark Barry Spicer Jr. of Laurel and Lee Studley and wife, Christine, of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Leslie Carter of Laurel; a brother, Warren Spicer and wife, Jeanette, of Alabama; grandchildren, Alex Spicer, Joey Spicer and Melissa Idoni; great-grandchildren, Ava Idoni and Clifford Lee Spicer; and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jefferson Kenneth Spicer and James Jim Spicer and a daughter, Lynn Fleming.

A viewing will be held at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel on Monday evening from 6-8. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 2, at the funeral home at 11 a.m., where a Masonic service will also began at 11 and a viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m.. The Rev. Ken Deusa will officiate.
