Donald Arthur Gooss Sr., VMD

Willards - Donald Arthur Gooss, Sr., VMD age 84, of Willards died Thursday, January 7, 2021 at home. He was born in Hackensack, NJ and was the son of the late Lawrence William Gooss Sr. and Margaret Helen Elizabeth (Pye) Gooss.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced veterinary medicine at Georgetown Animal Hospital and then Selbyville Animal Hospital for a total of 43 years.

He was an active member of the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Georgetown, De. for many years, and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Barbershop Harmony Society, and the Horntown Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Gooss of Willards; two sons, Donald Gooss Jr., VMD and wife Ligia, and John Gooss,VMD and wife Joni all of Georgetown; two daughters, Linda Belkot and husband Gary and Sandra Gooss all of Georgetown; a step-son, Todd Baker and wife Margaret of Salisbury; twelve grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Linda Duncan and Joyce Gooss; three nephews and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Gooss Jr. PE, and George Gooss, Sr. and a sister, Susan DesAutels.

Donald enjoyed walks on the beach, visiting Disney World, singing barbershop harmony with the Peninsulaires in Salisbury, skiing with family, camping at Chincoteague Bay Trails End, and attending church.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Horntown Baptist Church, P.O. Box 454, Horntown, VA 23395
