Salisbury - Edwin S. Alling of Salisbury, MD passed peacefully to enter eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at his home. Born December 9, 1924 in New Haven, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Edwin Newton Alling and Helen Sears Alling. He is survived by his loving wife Joan Creyghton Alling of 46 years. He is also survived by two sons, Mark S. Alling and wife Sarah of Mechanicsville, VA, Curtis Alling of Folsom, CA, step-son, Norman Hudson-Taylor and wife Diana of Glen Echo, MD; 3 grandsons, Daniel Alling, Brian Alling and wife Amanda, Corey Alling; one granddaughter, Chelsea Alling; 2 great-granddaughters, Evelyn and Marilyn Alling. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Brown Alling, one brother, John Alling and one sister, Grace Huston. After graduating High School, he graduated from Yale University with a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps honorably in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He attended Bethany Lutheran Church in Salisbury. A Life Well Celebrated service to honor Edwin will be held at Bounds Funeral Home, 705 E. Main Street, Salisbury, MD 21804 at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Family will receive friends 30 min prior to the service. Burial will follow after the service at Springhill Memory Gardens, Hebron, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting
