George William "Bill" Leidner Jr.

Pittsville - George William "Bill" Leidner, Jr., was born in Baltimore, MD on April 17, 1939. At the age of 79, Bill lost his battle to chronic illness and died on July 5, 2018 at Peninsula Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Leidner Sr. He was the husband of Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Constable Leidner, his wife of 54 years.

Bill was a 1957 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School. He was the owner and president of Leidner and Son Contracting Inc. where he built many houses in Sykesville, MD. He was also a well known boat captain in Ocean City, MD.

He is survived by his daughter Laura Blanz and son-in-law Rik Blanz of Clarksville, TN, daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Leidner and son-in-law Barry Frankel of Sykesville, MD, and son George "Billy" Leidner, III and daughter-in-law Amanda Baggett of Stewart, FL. He is also survived by grandchildren Brittany, Barry Jr., and Bailey Frankel, Colleen, Rhema, Ester, Kairos, Victory, and David Leidner, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Mary Leidner of Berlin, MD, brother Jack Leidner of Windsor, CA, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Joanne Leidner, Dotty and Dicky Weis, Carol and Bill Seabrease, and Danny Constable, 10 nieces and nephews, multiple great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by several cousins in the Baltimore area.

He was predeceased by his brother Wayne Leidner and his first wife Mary Lou Leidner Woyick.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville.

Bill will be missed by all that knew him but may his legacy live on in all of our hearts.
