Howard Washington Horseman II

FRUITLAND —Howard Washington Horseman II, affectionately known as "Brov" and "Hoss," 61, of Fruitland died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury as a result of a vehicle accident. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of Nancy Lee Daniels Horseman of Wenona and the late Harvey William Horseman.

He graduated from Washington High School and then the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1974 with a degree in industrial arts education and pursued his master's degree from Salisbury University. He taught in Somerset County at Woodson Middle School and in Wicomico County at James M. Bennett. He then followed his true passion of being a home improvement contractor. Howard had a love for music and played the guitar in several bands throughout his life. Despite his multitude of health problems, he thoroughly enjoyed home improvement activities and gardening around his home. His gentle soul and spirit were portrayed in his love and treatment of animals. Nothing was more important to him than his family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Lou Beahm Horseman; and a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Horseman of Fruitland. Mary Lou and Sarah were the loves of his life, and he affectionately referred to Sarah as his "Winks." He is also survived by two sisters, Kathy Hansin and her husband, Paul, of Newport News, Va., and Marsha Newton of Chance; a brother-in-law, Harvey Beahm and his wife, Marty, of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Janice Feltz and her husband, Paul, of Naples, Fla., and Nancy Macdonald of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Gail Patricia Horseman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a,m, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Linwood "Sonny" Benton Jr. will officiate.
