Jerry L. Byrd

Delmar - Jerry Lee Byrd, 80, of Delmar, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home.

Born in Crisfield on February 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Essie Collins Byrd Landon and step-son of the late Leroy Landon.

A 1956 graduate of Crisfield High School, he was a US Army National Guard veteran and worked as a dairy manager for the former A&P and Super Fresh where he later retired.

Jerry enjoyed fishing with his fishing buddies and loved his rescue dogs. He loved his family, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mariellen Dryden Byrd of Delmar; daughters, Veronica Byrd of Delmar and Vonny Byrd/Bo Riley of Greenbackville, VA; grandchildren, Joseph, Jerry, and Rosalee; sister, Virginia Landon Tyler of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home from 10:30-11:30 AM. A graveside service officiated by Rev. Bill Cropper will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to your local Humane Society.
