Joseph Frank Delatte

SALISBURY —Joseph Frank Delatte Sr., 89, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at the home of his daughter. Born in Donaldsonville, La., he was the son of the late Wilfred and Georgianna Delatte.

He served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years, retiring in 1971 as a master chief petty officer. He was a life member of VFW Post 194, a member of the Salisbury Moose Lodge 654, Elks and the American Legion.

He is survived by a daughter, Debra Delatte Schaub and husband, Charles; a son, Joseph Frank Delatte Jr. and wife, Karen; a brother, Gerald Delatte and a sister, Betty J. Blouin; a niece, Gail P. Benton and husband, Mark; four grandchildren, Melissa D. Beverly and husband, William, Justin W. Schaub and wife, Julie, Jordan R. Schaub and Jessica M. Delatte; two great-grandchildren, Devin Beverly and Cora Elizabeth Schaub; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce L. Delatte, and brother, Richard C. Delatte.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A private funeral for family will be held at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions to be sent to Coastal Hospice, PO Box 1733, Salisbury, Md. 21802-1733.
