Mildred Theresa Beckwith Bosies

SALISBURY-Mildred Theresa Beckwith Bosies, 77, of Salisbury, formerly a resident of Delmar, Md., passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Atria Assisted Living following a long battle with breast cancer. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Horace T. and Rosalie Theresa Studzinski Beckwith.

She was a graduate of Seton High School in 1954, Towson State Teachers College in 1958 with a Bachelor of Education degree and Salisbury State College in 1981 with a Master of Education degree. She was a school teacher in Baltimore County where she taught at Edmondson Heights and Westown elementary schools. In 1973 she continued her career with Wicomico County at Delmar Elementary, where she was a resource teacher until she retired in 1998.

She was a member of the Maryland State Teachers Association, Retired Teachers of Wicomico County, Happy Timers, Friends of the Delmar Library, Eucharistic Minister of Communion for St. Francis de Sales and the Lady Knights of Columbus.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan A. Waldman and her husband, David, of Delmar; a son, Hilton T. Bosies and his wife, Maria, of Salisbury; four grandchildren, Janet (Waldman) Talley and her husband, Nathan, Emma Bosies, Matthew Waldman and Chase Berkey; and a daughter-in-law, Bonnie J. Bosies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hilton Bosies, and a son, Christian "Chris" Bosies.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. There will be visitations at the church beginning on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be held at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Women Supporting Women and the Wicomico County Humane Society.
