Princess Anne - Richard Duer Vetra, 65 of Princess Anne was taken home to be with our Lord on Thursday April 5, 2018 after a long & courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Baltimore, MD and raised in Somerset County, he was the son of the late Robert Duer Vetra and Shirley Vincent Vetra. He was a graduate of Washington High School and was an accomplished plumber; however, he was a man of many talents. He was known to be a perfectionist at any task he chose to undertake.

He left his mark on so many homes, businesses, customers and friends. He had a special love for his yellow lab named Butter and his Pomeranian named Petey.

Fishing and Nascar were two of his favorite hobbies but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family. A genuine soul and humble man, he was very generous in every aspect of his life. He lived his life simply and unpretentiously and will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by the love of his life, Janet Dean of Centreville MD, stepson, M. Scott White (Shelly) of Ocean City MD, his brothers Robert Vetra (Pat) of Salisbury, MD, Lee Vetra (Irene) of Princess Anne, MD his sisters Sheila Nichols (Joshua) of Fruitland, MD, Lynn Brenner (Gordon), Shelly Glasgow (Steve) and Terry Bozman (Charles), all of Princess Anne, MD and several nieces, nephews,.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A., in Princess Anne, Md. A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and also from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Monday. Interment will be at Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne. Rev. Jimmy Cullen will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the in memory of Rick.
