Richard Verlin Lovett
Parsonsburg - Richard Verlin Lovett, 55, of Parsonsburg, MD went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 10th, 2021. Richard was born in Salisbury, Md on December 9th, 1965. He graduated from James M. Bennett and began working in construction. His love for nature and the outdoors led to his career as an arborist. A career he was passionate about and worked for most of his life.
One of Richard's biggest accomplishments was being a father. He was the beloved father of Nina (Joseph) Schaffer and Nicole (Matthew) Hill, proud grandfather of six grandchildren; Nathaniel, Ian, Kylah, Kambri, Bray and Banner. In addition to his daughters, Richard is survived by his parents, Thelma Gaston, Verlin Lovett and Ella Lovett; siblings, Vanessa Adams, Theresa Thoene and Phillip Jones along with their spouses and children.
Richard loved sports, especially football, where his favorite team was the Washington Redskins. He spent his free time riding around town with his dog, Gizmo, and listening to classic rock. He also enjoyed fishing, cutting his grass, playing softball, and helping others. A heart of gold is what every family member and friend has said about Richard.
Most of all Richard loved his family and instilled in his daughters strong values that they will carry into the next generation. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at his church 3C USA, 38238 Old Stage Road, Delmar, DE on Saturday, August 14th, 2021 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to visit with family one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you take a moment to hug your child, grandchild or loved one.
