Laurel—Stella Mary Gullette Watson Ellis, 90, of Laurel, Delaware quietly passed away and went to be with her Lord, September 28, 2012 at Forwood Manor Health Center in Wilmington, Delaware surrounded by her loving family after a long struggle with cancer. She was born in Athol, Maryland on September 1, 1922, the daughter of the late Lemuel and Virginia Ryan Gullette of Athol, Maryland. She was married to her husband of 23 years, Norman J. Watson, Laurel, Delaware who suddenly passed away In November 1962. She was widowed and later re-married Leslie E. Ellis of Delmar, Maryland who died in March 1996.

Stella retired after working more than 33 years at E. I. DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford, Delaware. Prior to working at DuPont she was employed 8 years at the Manhattan Shirt Factory in Salisbury, Maryland and was a meticulous seamstress. She was also an outstanding homemaker. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Delmar and she was faithful to her Sunday school class. She was an excellent cook and baker. She became a talented gardener and she loved to work in her vegetable and flower gardens and enjoyed being outdoors. She loved to work with her hands, whether it be baking, cooking, sewing or knitting. She was a devoted, daughter, wife, mother, sister and a proud loving grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family with all her heart and her faith in the Lord was an inspiration to her family. Stella will always be remembered as a woman with a most kind and giving spirit.

Stella is preceded in death by four sisters, Shelbourne Gullette who died as an infant, Margie Adkins, her fraternal twin, Della Mae Johnson of Delmar, Norene Gillis of Delmar and a brother King L. "Junior" Gullette of Laurel, Delaware.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Watson Sammons Keil and her husband, Ralph F. Keil of Wilmington, Delaware. Two granddaughters, Glee Marine Corona of Delmar, Maryland and Michele Watson Sammons of Wilmington, Delaware and three great grandchildren, Chelsea Glee Corona, Olivia Hanna Lloyd and Ian Christopher Lloyd. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Adkins of Salisbury, Maryland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Stella will be held at Hannigan-Short-Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956 on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 am, a viewing will also be held from 10-11:00 am. The Reverend-Pastor Barry Devine will officiate. Interment will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, West Street, Laurel, Delaware.

The family wants to extend many thanks for all the wonderful care that the staff and nurses gave her at Forwood Manor and especially Marie Beaulieu, who was genuine in her extra care of Stella. We want to give a special thanks to Stella's wonderful Delaware Hospice Volunteer, Lisa Wagner, who brought so much sunshine to her when she came to visit and all the weekly beautiful flowers and most important the love, caring and support she showed Stella. The family is forever grateful. We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to her wonderful neighbors Jean and Loren Fuller of Laurel, Delaware for the love and care they showed Stella over the years.

Our darling Stella, rest in eternal peace and you will be sadly missed by all of your family and we will always carry your memory in our hearts forever.
