Vivian Nadine Cavey
Snow Hill - Vivian Nadine Cavey, 79, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Harrison House of Snow Hill. Born in Salisbury on June 7, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Weldon Mariner and Alice Irene Dorsey Mariner.
Nadine grew up in Salisbury and graduated from Wicomico High School in 1959. She had previously worked for Manhatten and Gant Shirt Factory as well as the Fashion Shop. She retired in 2001 after 25 years from the Holly Center where she was a Food Service Supervisor. Nadine attended the Impact Church in Fruitland for a number of years, and previously attended St. Andrews UMC in Salisbury.
Nadine loved sewing, especially quilting, which she sometimes enjoyed with friends in a quilting guild. She also enjoyed cooking, surf fishing, and spending time with family and friends. She often prepared and delivered home cooked meals to elderly friends or someone recovering from an illness. Lancaster, PA was one of her favorite places to visit. She loved the shops, antiques, quilts, scenery, food, and memories made there. She was spunky, generous, humble, and kind. She knew how to work hard and laugh harder. Nadine especially loved spending time with children, she loved her grandchildren and every child she ever met. She was a loving mother and grandmother to many.
She is survived by her son, William Weldon Cavey and his wife, Chrissy of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Alexis and Anna; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and sisters in law.
She married her late husband, William "PeeWee" Ruff Cavey on July 3, 1959 in Salisbury and were happily married for 49 years until his passing in 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Denwood Mariner; and a cousin Kevin Mariner.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cavey will be private on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Holloway Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Parsons officiating. For your convenience, services will be livestreamed beginning at 2pm. Everyone is invited to a visitation on Tuesday evening, February 23, 2021 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Holloway's.
