William Maurice Anthony Offutt

PITTSVILLE—William Maurice Anthony Offutt, 86, of Pittsville, and formerly of Baltimore, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at his residence.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Jane Mersinger Offutt; and his two "pet daughters," Regina Anne and Maria Nicole. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law whom he thought of as his parents, George and Gertrude Mersinger.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict and a member of Holy Name Society. Over the years, he had several places of employment, including Bendix as an administrator for 20 years, then Panasonic in inventory control for five years and Hilton Nursing Home as an administrator for five years. He loved to watch and feed birds and spend time with his family.

A funeral service will be held today, April 1, at 9:30 a.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A committal service will be held later today, at 2 p.m., at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Baltimore.
