Agnes Marie Cheezum

EASTON—Agnes Marie Cheezum, 93, of Easton died on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Envoy of Denton. She was born in Baltimore on Nov. 28, 1919. She was the daughter of the late John W. Grenadier and Margaret Tramberg Grenadier.

Mrs. Cheezum was employed for several sewing factories, retiring as a sales clerk from W.T. Grant Company. She resided in St. Mark's Village for over twenty years. Prior to that, she had been a resident of Cordova for more than forty-eight years. She was a charter member of the Cordova Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Since 1957, she had been a member of the Church of Nazarene in Easton. She was well known for her "card ministry" and her loving care of others, always putting everyone before herself.

Second to God, her love was for her three sons, and all her family. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Envoy of Denton, especially those on hall 200, for their loving care of Mrs. Cheezum.

She is survived by her two sons, William N. Cheezum, Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Cordova, and W. Ronald Cheezum and his wife, Sherry of Salisbury; a brother, Doug Cheezum and his wife, Ginny of Cordova; a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Cheezum of Easton; eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and honorary family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William N. Cheezum, Sr., who died in 1963; a son, Robert R. Cheezum, Sr.; a brother, Johnnie Grenadier; and sisters, Dorothy Cheezum and Margaret Jones.

A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-5 P.M. at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 200 S. Harrison St. in Easton. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. W. Nevin Crouse will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Pastor and Mrs. Crouse have been a close part of the Cheezum family for many years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to Cordova Volunteer Fireman's Association, 11864 Kitty's Corner RD, P.O. Box 102, Cordova, MD 21625, or to Real Life Chapel, Church of the Nazarene, 403 Hollyday St., Easton, MD 21601.
