Laurel—Eleanor Elizabeth Henry, of Laurel, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at home.

Eleanor was born May 31, 1935 in Lewes, Delaware to the late Leland and Helen Mitchell Warrington. After growing up in Lewes, and then in Laurel, she married Edwin Elmer Henry on July 22, 1953, who preceded her in death.

She was an active member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and served as Treasure of the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Inc., and as 4-H leader for many years.

Eleanor was a homemaker and a loving, devoted mother to her four children. She enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the country with her husband, arts and crafts, reading, sewing, singing, gardening and playing games. Seldom idle, she also enjoyed church activities, flea marketing and doll collecting. What Eleanor enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Henry will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Eugene Henry and Virginia White of Indianapolis, IN., Elston and Brenda Henry of Laurel, Elaine and Bruce Graves of Seaford, and Eric and Jodie Henry of Laurel, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses: Edgar and Louise Warrington, Mary Ellen Elliott, June and Richard James, Jerry and Carol Warrington, and Shirley and Louis O'Neal.

A funeral service will be held at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home Laurel, DE on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11:30 am, where a viewing will also be held from 10-11:30 am. The Rev. Dr. Everett Isaacs will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Laurel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Inc. c/o Trudy Jones 8547 Sharptown Road Laurel, DE 19956 or Delaware Hospice 100 Patriots Way Milford, DE 19963.
