Crisfield—Shirley Evans, 85, of Crisfield, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield August 11, 1927, she was a daughter of the late George Thomas and Virginia Evans Kellum. Her husband, Roger J. Evans, preceded her in death on March 18, 1973. She had been a resident of Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home for the past two years.

She was a homemaker and a seamstress, working in various sewing factories years ago. She also worked at the former Mrs. Paul's Kitchen in Crisfield.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044. She loved her home, working in her yard, arranging flowers, and cooking family dinners. Most of all, she loved her family, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Wooster and her husband Bruce and Shirley Greene and her husband Marvin, all of Crisfield; two grandchildren, Chris Ward and his wife Jen of Columbia, MD and Ryan Wooster and his wife Jessica of Crisfield; two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Colin Ward; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Spry, Jack, Donald, and George Thomas, and Virginia Huppman.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor's Todd Hurley and Steve Willing will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where the family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
