WILLESEN, Lis Koie . Passed away on May 31st, 2014, at the age of 86 in her home, with her loving family by her side. She is lovingly remembered by her children Mike (Sharon) and Susan (Derek) as well as her grandchildren Wesley, Nolan, Jessica and Tiana and Kyle. Heartbroken are her brother and sisters, especially Ingrid (Herman) and her nieces and nephews. Lis was born in Hillerod, Denmark where she grew up with her 8 siblings. She came to Canada in 1955 from Denmark to start a new life with her husband Victor along with Ingrid and Herman. They built their lives and homes together on Sentinel Hill in West Vancouver. Lis had a long and successful career at the Royal Bank before starting her family. The light of her life were her children and grandchildren, she loved them with all her heart. She was also very involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews and cared for them like her own. She took great pride in her home and enjoyed working in her garden. She was kind and compassionate and will always be remembered for her generous heart and giving hand. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses that cared for her at both LGH and the Canadian Cancer Agency over the past year, as well as the many home support workers, community nurses and shift care nurses who were so kind and supportive, particularly Dr. Jennifer Walker, Ann Marie the Community Health Nurse, Bruria the Shift Care Nurse and Mitch, Delma and Days her home support workers. A service will be held at the Danish Lutheran Church, 6010 Kincaid Street, Burnaby, B.C. on June 12th, 2014 at 11:00 am. Hollyburn Funeral Home 604-922-1221
