I worked for David on Saturdays for a few years as a young adult, and I loved every minute of it. David had the craziest stories of his college misadventures, and I will never understand how he got away with some of his shenanigans! A truly incredible, caring, hilarious, smart man. He will be missed.

Dave refered to us as twins since we were born on the same date and year though on different continents. I worked with Dave for 30 years and appreciated his professionalism and also enjoyed our time together cruising the Gulf Islands. I know that he will be missed.

I was sad to learn of Dave's passing away. I knew him from TRIUMF where we shared many lunchtime walks together. We also shared a love of organ and choir music.

How sad to hear this unexpected news about Dave. I worked happily with Dave my whole time at TRIUMF. He helped in everything we did, was selfless, always upbeat and cheerful, a real team player. The channel master. After-run parties at his beach-front house in Tsawwassen were great, with water skiing, boating, pilot whale watching (Willie!), and good company. I can't believe he's gone. He deserved more time.

A great shock to hear of David's passing. We have great memories of David cooking salmon in his homemade BBQ and sharing the beach experience with Dave & Joanne. His sense of humour and boyish mischievousness will be missed by all of us. Now in the hands of an eternal Saviour.

I enjoyed many lively discussions over coffee or lunch at TRIUMF with Dave. His advice and assistance with various projects over the years were greatly appreciated. He was always a good friend.

We were so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of David! Although it is a shock for those left to mourn his passing, we are comforted in knowing he is with his Lord and Saviour. The Hamm family have many wonderful times spent with your family, going back to the days when we first attended South Delta Baptist church. The potato gun was always a big hit with our boys! Dinners on the boat was also a special time for us. Your hospitality was always so gracious and generous. May the wonderful memories you share about your husband, father, father-law, and “Grampy” comfort you in the coming days. We continue to uphold you in our prayers.
Much love,
The Hamms

David was a solid and resourceful worker at triumf who supported a large group of Canadian and international scientists. Many a graduate student from around the world owes David a debt of gratitude for his 24/7 support through their physics studies, particularly on the meson beam lines at TRIUMF. I cherished David as a close colleague and good friend.

Monika and I enjoyed a number of barbeques at Dave and Joanne's home over the years. Dave was fun to be around and always had some interesting story to share from his youth. Dave and Joanne's gracious hospitality was always enjoyed by all. Blessings on Dave and Joanne.

Dave often chatted about boating and loved the water. He was just an awesomely good person.
