Gary Wayne Bannister, 60, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2013 in Bucerias, Mexico. He was born June 8, 1952 in North Vancouver. Gary is survived by his loving family, children Sarah (Lenny) & Clint (Kristen); grandchildren Anika, Lene & Hannah; Mother Gwen; sisters Jackie (Richard), Crystal (Doug); & Linda (Bob), many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family & friends in Canada & Mexico. Most notably his caregiver Eny & her 3 children, Angelo, Alex & Elizabeth. He was predeceased by his Father Jack; Uncle Larry; & brother in-law Tim. Gary raised his family in North Vancouver where he was a member of the Int. Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 2, B.C. and was a top fundraising coordinator for the ALS Society. He lived his last 9 years in (Paradise) Bucerias, Mexico. Gary was diagnosed with ALS at age 46, and will be remembered for never letting ALS affect his love for life and how he lived each day to the fullest with a smile on his face. A service will be held to celebrate Gary's life from 4 to 5pm followed by a reception at 7pm on Sunday June 30, 2013 both events at The Eagles Hall 170 3rd St. W, North Vancouver, BC V7M 1E8, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gary's name to the ALS Society of BC.
