SADOWSKI, Dr. Henry A. August 14, 1946 - May 12, 2021
Henry passed away peacefully May 12th, 2021 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Raised in Toronto, Ontario, Henry attended St. Michael's College School and then studied medicine at the University of Toronto. He qualified as a neurologist and was invited to do research in MS at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, DC. His time there was very rewarding and he did further work at the Montreal Neurological Institute. In 1980, he moved to BC where he engaged in private practice for more than 30 years. In 1981, Henry met Grace, the love of his life. They were married in 1983. He was a loving, devoted husband and father of four who were the pride of his life. His sons, Paul and David, pursued medicine and mining/finance respectively. His daughter, Kaaren, became a jewellery designer and his youngest, Lizzie, a trial lawyer. Henry was a highly respected neurologist, a devout and steadfast man, strong in faith and by example passed on his stellar qualities to his four children. He leaves to mourn his wife Grace, children Paul (Nicole), Kaaren (Alastair), David (Ann-Marie) and Lizzie, along with his sister Eugenia (Michael), and brother Mark (Raymy), and numerous nieces and nephews. Henry will also be sadly missed by his eight grandchildren: Olivia, Jack, Alex, Robbie, Christian, Alexander, Charlotte, and Nicholas. A prayer vigil with individual visitation only will be held on May 20, 2021 at 6:30 pm at St. Pius X Catholic Church in North Vancouver. A private, family funeral mass will follow the next day in keeping with COVID protocols. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Henry's memory to Parkinson Society BC.
