Anthony Sedlak Obituary

Apr 15, 1983 - Jul 4, 2012

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Tony. He is survived by his parents Rudy and Louise, brother Rudy (Tara), sister Dana (Grant), nieces Erin and Maya, extended family and friends and fans.

Born in Prince George, he was raised in North Vancouver. While in high school (Handsworth/Carson Graham), he worked in the restaurants at Grouse Mountain where he first became passionate about food.

In 2004, he spent a year in London, England working at La Trompette Restaurant. Returning to Canada, he competed in and won the Food Network's Super Star Chef Challenge. This earned him his own TV show, "The Main" which ran for four seasons and launched his culinary career.

Most recently, he was a judge on the "Family Cookoff" TV series. During this time, he worked at the American Cheesesteak Co. Restaurant as Culinary Director while consulting and doing live culinary events in Toronto.

Tony was a kind, sensitive, and intelligent young man with a zest for life. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A private Celebration of Life will be held later this month. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Vancouver High School Education Foundation (www.nvhsef.com) for the creation of a scholarship in his name.

I watched his show, Main, and loved his passion for food and enjoyment. I am very sad for his family and friends, and the rest of us that saw him, and loved him.
