Betty Harrelson Obituary

Betty Nan Harrelson was born in Seagraves, Texas, March 22, 1933. Her parents were Bertha and George Hike. Betty passed away February 20, 2013, at Gila Regional in Silver City, New Mexico, leaving her loving family to be with the Lord.
The funeral service will be held Saturday February 23, 2013 at Baca's Funeral Chapels, Deming at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Pastor Eldon Fowler of the Calvary Baptist Church of Silver City will officiate. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
Betty met James Albert (Jack) Harrelson, a young truck driver, while working in Sweetwater, Texas, whom she later married on August 22, 1953. Betty and Jack had seven children.
They moved to Deming, New Mexico in June of 1966 where they continued to reside. Throughout her life Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She modeled the importance of sacrifice, love, and responsibility in rearing her family. This is carried on today in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty loved traveling with her husband, especially to Laughlin; reading good books, playing Bingo; but most of all Betty loved her family. Her children and grandchildren gave her many nicknames over the years, including: "Grandma Bitty," "Granny," "Mamma Betty," "Betty Boop" and "G-Betty."
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack Harrelson, sons-in-law Timothy Shad Moore and Kenney Joe Gilbreath.
She is survived by her seven children: James Michael Harrelson, Linda Gilmore (Terry), Ronnie Harrelson (Lupita), Charlie Harrelson (Lauri), Nancy Gilbreath, Bertha Willis (Jeff) and Jackie Moore Wilson (Ivan).
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren: Jessica Harrelson and her son Robby; Jeremy Gilmore, Celeste Gilmore and her daughter Abigail and Ashley Gilmore; Kristi Francis and her husband Andrew and their two daughters, Bella, Layla and soon-to-be Baby Francis; Randy Harrelson and his wife Rachel and their two daughters, Avery and Claire; Katrina Parkes and her husband John and their three children, Caleb, Makenna and Orion; Matt Wells and his wife Marie and their children, Lia and Quentin; Kristi Collins and her children Alec and Payton; Bobby Harrelson and Haley Harrelson; Justin Rossiter and his two children, Lucus and Taylor; Kendra Clarke and her husband Michael and their daughter, Kalie; Deeana Bajgrowic and her husband Ryan and their two children, Landen and Jake; Megan Guaderrama and her husband Erik and their two children, Evan and Maddox; Zachary Moore and Vanessa and their son Blake; Aleigha Donaghe; and Ashley Wilson.
Pallbearers are James Harrelson, Ronnie Harrelson, Charlie Harrelson, Jeff Willis, Randy Harrelson, Zachary Moore and Erik Guaderrama. Honorary pallbearers are Landen Willis and Evan Guaderrama.
