Kathryn Ann Deitz Obituary
Kathryn Ann Deitz, 58, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away at home on January 9, 2019.

Kathryn was born July 11, 1960, in San Diego, California, to David and Beth Holland. She grew up in California and Arizona, graduating from Prescott High School in 1978 then worked for the Yuma Daily Sun before getting married.

On May 16, 1981, Kathryn married Duke Deitz at Yuma, Arizona and they lived in Flagstaff while Duke finished college. After he graduated they continued living in Arizona then moved to California, Washington, Utah, Texas and New Mexico before moving to North Platte in 2013.

While in Utah, Kathryn graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Utah Valley University and received her B.A. in Elementary Education. She went on to earn her Master's Degree from Western New Mexico University. Kathryn was recently employed by North Platte Public Schools where she taught 3rd Grade and Title 1. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She enjoyed traveling and loved the outdoors. Kathryn especially loved her family and will be remembered as a kind, caring person who was loved by everybody.

She leaves behind her husband, Duke, of North Platte; son, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Deitz, and grandchildren, Angie, Ashley and Glen, of Salt Lake City, Utah; her father, David Holland, of Sun City, Arizona; brothers, Don (Laura) Holland, of Youngtown, Arizona and Doug Holland, of Phoenix, Arizona; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; and other family.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Holland.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Odean Colonial Chapel in North Platte. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com. In lieu of flowers memorials are to Habitat for Humanity. Arrangements are with Odean Colonial Chapel.
