Felix Magalong Obituary

Magalong, Captain Felix B., Sr. , 91, died Oct. 9, 2010, in Aurora, CO. Born on Oct. 17, 1918, in Baluyot, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was a Bataan Death March Survivor, a POW, had 30 years of service in the U.S. Army (1941-1971, Infantry) and was a local community leader. He graduated with a B.A. degree in Sociology from Metropolitan State College in 1977; volunteered as a marriage counselor, interpreter, and nursing home assistant; and was past president of the Filipino American Community of Colorado. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; two daughters, Mary (Cesar) Viray and Aurora (Wayne) Brewer; two sons, Romeo (Constance) Magalong, Sr. and Felix B. (Maria Perpetua) Magalong, Jr.; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 12 siblings. His sacrifices for his family and country will be remembered forever. Captain Felix B. Magalong, Sr. will be missed. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 5:30 PM, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at Newcomer East Metro Chapel. Rosary will be held 7:00 PM, Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at St. Pius X Parish. Funeral Mass, 10:00 AM, Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at the church. Interment will follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
