Robert Graham Bosworth Jr. Obituary
passed away on April 29th. He was 90 when he died, in the company of his family. Bob was born on August 25, 1923, in Denver, Colorado. He graduated from the Hill School, Princeton University, and Columbia University Medical School College of Physicians and Surgeons. He returned to Denver in 1950, where he spent a career in internal medicine private practice, specializing in diabetes. While in medical school, Bob met the young nursing school student, Alice Cook, who later became his wife. Bob and Alice have five children, Sally (Hensley), Robert III, Patricia (Childs), Gordon, and David. Bob was actively involved in professional and social organizations including past president of the Colorado Medical Society, member of the Denver Medical Society, Church of the Ascension, Denver Country Club, and the University Club, where Bob especially enjoyed playing theatrical roles appropriate to the occasion. He was a life member of the American College of Physicians. In 1953 he was called into service in the Army and began a tour of duty training Korean War recruits. In addition to being a dedicated medical doctor, Bob was an expert skier, duck hunter, and fly fisher. He was a fine woodworker, golfer, impromptu poet and avid performer. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, August 25, 2003, then Denver mayor John Hickenlooper declared "Robert G. Bosworth Jr. Day." God grant that I may fish for trout Until my dying day And when I come to my last cast I'll then most humbly pray When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep That in his mercy I'll be judged As good enough to keep.
