Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your loss. I regret that I searched the internet for Bill too late. I wanted to share stories about good times at KU and in Denver. He was a good friend to my late husband, Don and to me.

From the entire staff, all the physicians and the Board of Directors of (the former) Colorado Neurological Institute, our deepest sympathies are with Leslie and her family. Bill was the single largest donor to CNI, and, through his generosity, he touched the lives of hundreds of neurological patients in Colorado. We are deeply saddened by this loss and sincerely hope he is at peace.

Serving on the Colorado Open Lands Board with Bill for over 25 years and watching his steadfast commitment to its purpose opened my eyes and mind to this wonderful man and great leader. His wise counsel, his remarkable gifts, and his insightful encouragement to many young professionals in the conservation movement will bear fruit for many years to come. Bill always inserted heart, hope, and courage into the vision for land conservation.

Bill Vollbracht made enormous contributions to the preservation of Colorado's natural landscapes for future generations. His quiet leadership brought Colorado Open Lands from a fledgling organization to its present status as the state's leading land trust. Long after he stepped down as Chairman, his vision and focus continued to be an inspiration to his successors.

This guy is so great that all I have ever heard about him, is how great he is. I went to Boulder at the same time and personally knew him. My former husband was a Realtor in Denver and spoke so highly of Bill. What is most fascinating is that he married a lovely lady whose recommendation to a sorority I wrote. I have always wanted to say something to both of them so I will do it here. I am very sad at his passing.
