Not sure what to say?

So sad and sorry to hear of Fred's passing. He was a GREAT mile runner and I'm happy to have been a member of the 4 mile relay team with Fred. I was also at the State meet in 1959 when Fred broke the mile record with a time of 4 minutes 37 seconds and some change. Fred, my friend and team mate, It is my pleasure and fond memories to know you. ALOHA NUI NUI LOA------- Wally Jacobson -- Kailua High School 1957-1960

Dear Rita and family,
I was so sorry to learn of Fred's passing. My brother (also a runner) and I knew Fred and his family in Hawaii. Fred was a gentle and caring soul in his youth as it seems he remained throughout his life. Thoughts of our youth and friendship have surfaced from time to time. I'm just so sorry he suffered so and that such a kind and loving husband is no longer by your side. Mary Wood Houdek

Rita, although I haven't seen you and Fred for many years, thoughts of you both have appeared as little memory jolts bring back the past. I was so very sorry to read about your loss today. Please know I'm thinking of you. I hope I get to see you at a memorial for Fred. Sandy Carter-Duff from the past at CDHS

Rita:
Fred was such a special man - so kind and loving. I was so moved by the way you two loved and adored each other - it was great to experience that while spending time with you. I'm really sorry to hear the news of losing him.
Warmly, Sylvia Theisen
