Sweet and generous Joan. I just loved your energy! I can´t believe it´s been 7 years. Joan you made a lasting impression on me. I wish I had your creative flair and talent. Missing you! Anne

I have been thinking about Joan so much lately. I am in the midst of a bathroom remodel - and I just miss her ideas, her creativity, the fun we had together on previous projects. I walk into certain rooms in my home and remember our time organizing and moving things. We always made time to talk about our families and our faith. We shared how the book 'Jesus Calling" spoke to us through all of our trials. The March 17 message from the devotional book makes me think of Joan - "Rejoice in the One who understands you completely and loves you perfectly. As I fill you with My Love, you become a reservoir of love, overflowing into the lives of other people." That was Joan to me - her energy and loving spirit definitely overflowed into my life. Thank you for that gift! Anne

Dear Dixon Family, I just today heard of Joan's death, and my heart is breaking. I am so very sorry for this huge loss. I loved Joan, though our times together were very few - she touched me deeply. I will be in touch, but needed to reach out to you today. Oh how I wish I had known so I could come pay my respects. She will be missed so incredibly. My love to you all.

My heart is with all of you during this sorrowful time. Joan left an unforgettable impact on me from the time we first met in 1988, when she was the shining, sparkler of a mom to my cast-mate Don. A year later, you all hosted me and some other Up With People alumni during Christmas break, and Joan was the most elegant and hospitable hostess. I will always remember the fancy dinner she prepared and served us, with all of the finery in your formal dining room. She made us feel at home, was always curious, and had the most lovable laugh. Years later, as my family sought to relocate to Denver, we were hosted at the Dixon home and were made to feel like family once again. It was simply her way....
This is how I will always remember Joan: warm, kind, funny, loving, generous, and absolutely in LOVE with her family. She left such an amazing impact, and I am certain heaven is even more beautiful because she is there.

We both want to offer our deepest sympathies to the entire Dixon family. Joan was such a fun person to be around and so wonderfully caring about all her friends. Our hearts remember the pool games, bike parades, and of course Carolyn & Joan going to garage sales to buy things for Joan to paint on. We will miss her very much. God will help Dan, Dillon, Dave, Jill and their families through these tough times.
