Dr. A was my Doc since he took over the practice on Holly when Dr. K retired. That is most of my life. I still catch myself reaching for the phone, even after all this time. Urgent Care isnt the same. He continues to be in my thoughts and his family continues to be in my prayers.

Ken was my Doctor and friend for over 30 years. I was preparing to move out of Denver when this tragedy happened. I will never find a Doctor I trusted as much as Ken again. I speak of him often in talking with neighbors here in Indiana. He was a unique spirit and a roll model for kindness. I remain heartbroken at his loss and my heart goes out to his family.

Ken was my doctor for 15 years..his support and bedside manners were exceptional and I appreciated all his medical advise (and cures) from the mundane to the serious illnesses for my spouse and I . He was more than my Doc...a confidant and a great listener. He is sincerely missed...

I hope it's okay, I wanted to share one more thing. Doctor encouraged me to read 1 Timothy the last time I saw him. He was a significant part of helping me recently to heal spiritually with God's Word, from the last 5 years since my divorce had started. I'm much better today, physically, and also with Trust and Hope and Peace in Him, because of the Power of God's Word, and because of him, Dr. Kenneth Atkinson.

My deepest sympathies and prayers for healing are extended to the entire Atkinson family as they mourn the tragic loss of Ken Atkinson.

The loss of this kind, compassionate and professional physician and philanthropist, who I was privileged to have as my physician for nearly 20 years, and the loss to his family, friends, professional colleagues, office staff and the community, is immeasurable. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

I am extremely thankful for the opportunity of having Dr. Atkinson as my physician, and I have the utmost respect for his great moral sense of character in his act of generosity and courage in helping a neighbor in medical need.

May God watch over your family and hold you close during this time of grief and loss.

Dr. Ken Atkinson
Ken will always be remembered for his godly presence and for his passion for living life to the full. He was one of those remarkable individuals who come into one's life who just make life special being around him. Ken was a remarkable father and husband and over all a very special blessing to all of the Atkinson family.
Family visits to Colorado to visit live on as treasured moments in our lives. Thank you Ken for the life and love you modeled and for what you have taught us about living life out as a follower of Christ. What we call death Jesus calls our homecoming. There is a room in my Father's house, (John 14:1-4) This is said in his Word and it has already been prepared for Ken whom He dearly loves. In that promise we release him to the heart of Father God's embrace. Thank you Father God for the gift of Ken to each of us!

I'm a patient of Dr. Atkinson's, and I last saw him exactly two weeks prior to when all of us and this world lost a good and godly man, and a great doctor. He helped me so much medically, but also spiritually. He loved God's Word, and I'll never forget the things we discussed that contributed to me having a greater faith, and this honorable man.
I will keep his wife and family in my prayers, and ask that God comfort and bless them now, and in future years.
It was an absolute blessing in my life to have him as my doctor.

We lived in Dr. Adkinson's neighborhood many years ago. I remember that while I was pregnant with our first child the Adkinsons were recruiting for a bone marrow drive not only to find a match for their beautiful children but for other kids who need transplants. Because of this drive, I nearly was able to donate to a child on the Weat Coast but right before the dates were set I got a call saying the transplant was off. This family encourages everyone around them to a deeper faith, hope and love. My heart breaks for Jeanne and the girls. We will be holding you in our hearts and prayers. ❤✝

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Atkinson family. Ken was our family physician, from 1979 until my father's death in 1998, and my mother's in 2013. Ken cared for me from 1979 until last year. He was truly a gift to his family, his community, and to all of us whom Ken compassionately cared for over the years. He will be dearly missed.

I am so, so sorry for your loss. Words cannot express the pain I feel for you.

Dr. A was my Doc since he took over the practice from Dr. Kurtz so many, many years ago. He was a wonderful man and amazing physician who traversed a wide assortment of maladies with me. I also have MS, and there were many times my symptoms were a mystery to us both...was it MS or something else? He never failed to pursue it and figure it out, even though that often times meant being herded to a specialist for further testing.

In the early 90's I believe, I had DVT due to a broken foot. In those days, Dr. A did hospital rounds and he would often bring Taylor. He couldn't have been more than maybe 4 years old or so? Doc would read my chart and Taylor would watch some TV with me. When Doc was finished, Taylor would pat me on the leg and ask me if it hurt. I always told him it felt better since he visited, and he must have the magic touch. He would give me a big smile and off they went to see the next patient. I know Taylor and Kendall are happy to have their Dad with them, even though it was way too early.

He was so proud of his family, and smiles of joy crossed his face when talking of each of you. Please know that our thoughts, love and prayers are with you.

My dear Doctor since I was 7 years old. He was at the hospital to visit after I had my first child. He came to my brother's funeral to support my family. My favorite memory is when I was in high school. I cut my thumb very deep and needed stitches. My mom and I waited in one of his patient rooms for over an hour. He would come in grab something and leave, come back grab something and leave. He finally returned and apologized for making us wait. He continued and said the lady in the room next door had a spider in her ear for 3 days and he had to get it out. He got it, pulled it out and then dropped it and it ran across her face and he had to catch it again! Gross! He made the right choice, my thumb was not the priority and I was happy to wait. I loved that man, he took care of my family and we love him. Thank you for sharing your dear husband and father with us and so many others for so many years.

What a tremendous loss to all who knew and loved Dr. A., but so much greater for his lovely wife Jeanne, beautiful daughters Allison and Whitney, and their families. When he spoke of his family and shared pictures, his face would light up and a huge smile beamed across his face. The one comfort of this tragic loss is that he is reunited with his precious children Kendall and Taylor in the eternal kingdom of God. Through their struggles and death, Dr. A. remained a man of unwavering faith and undeniable courage. In his untimely death, the final act of courage was to do what came natural, help another. Although our family grieves the loss of Dr. A. as physician and friend for over 25 years along with so many others, we thank God for the impact he had on so many lives. Until we meet again, rest in peace Dr. A.

My thoughts and prayers will be with all of the people devastated by Ken's tragic loss, especially Jeanne and his family and friends. I will never forget working with Ken when I started my medical practice. He was a great and caring physician, healer and colleague. We shared patients over the years and they all loved him as a physician and a man. These are the times in life when those of us who believe in God and have hope of eternity with Him, know that Ken is in a better place. We also question why his life was taken early and abruptly. It is hard to find an answer to that question right now. My prayer will be that God comforts the broken hearts of those who loved Ken the most.
