Stanley Aston Obituary
Mr Stanley Alston Wingerworth Mr Stanley (Stan) Alston of Wingerworth passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2021 aged 95.
Stanley was a resident of Wingerworth for the last 52 years where he served as Clerk to Wingerworth Parish Council for 30 years.
A loving and devoted husband to Joan who predeceased Stan in 2017. Doting father to Susan, Graham and Janet, grandfather to Richard, Rachel, Adam, Abigail, Georgia, Josh and Charlotte.
Born Oldham, Lancs he served in the navy during WWII, before becoming a local government officer and working at N E Derbyshire council for over 20 years. A keen sailor, member of Ogston sailing club, amateur radio enthusiast and devoted family man. Stan will be much missed by family and friends.
The funeral service takes place on Tuesday May 25, 2021, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 12.10pm. If anyone would like to attend please contact the funeral directors. Donations to Alzheimers Society / Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
