Weldon Christensen Obituary
Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother and friend Weldon Virgil Christensen passed away, surrounded by his family, in Murray, Utah, on February 27, 2018. He was born to Virgil and Elda Hill Christensen, on March 8, 1936, in Fayette, Utah. He attended school in this small town then later received his Master's Degree while attending Utah State. Prior to completing his degree, however, Weldon was drafted into the Army where he proudly served his country. Being a skilled master carpenter provided Weldon with the talent to teach in the Industrial Arts area, along with a few other subjects, during his 32 years as a school teacher.
His family meant everything to him, he chose Sharon Denison as his eternal companion, they married in the Manti Temple 59 years ago. He enjoyed being outdoors, loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family. As a devoted member of the LDS Church, Weldon has filled his lifetime with service which has benefited many. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon, his six children; Carrie Deardurff (Dan), Vicki Carlson (Victor), Shauna Sisneros (Richard), Darren Christensen (Staci), Nathan Christensen (Kara), and Thayne Christensen, his sister Jean Christensen, sister Connie Nielson, brother Roland Christensen (Julia), 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, with another on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lucille Robins and granddaughter, Danielle Deardurff.
Weldon was a very loving father, devoted husband, and provider. His family loved him dearly and he will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 9, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Little Cottonwood 14th Ward, 1160 Vine Street, Salt Lake City, Utah 84121. Viewings will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 6:00pm-8:00pm and on Friday from 11:30am-12:45pm, both at the church. Graveside dedication will be performed by Roland Christensen in Fayette, Utah on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Online condolences: www.larkincares.com

Although I only knew him for a few years I can honestly say Weldon was one of the most Christlike and loving friends I have ever met. I will miss his wonderful smile and friendly handshake each Sunday in church. He was always so appreciative when I taught a class lesson and seemed to always take notes on a small note pad. He will be sorely missed but I'm sure he is in a much better place. My prayers are with you Sharon and family.

My 7th-grade Wood Shop teacher at Lincoln Jr. High in 1967. Great teachers like "Mr. C" exercise an incalculable influence over young inquisitive students like myself at age 12. I have thought about him often over the past 50 years and recognize what an outstanding role model he was. Outstanding teachers like him mold future generations for good.
