I posted three photos (credits to Brian Johnson) of Lawrence and Fran from their days in Bethesda Ward, where they are both remembered often and fondly. Lawrence has a keen intellect, sharp wit, and kind heart. Our love to Fran and family.

I remember the first time Lawrence took Bryson and me to show us his art collection and teach us about the largest modern French tapestry collection west of the Mississippi. What a rich life to surround oneself with beauty, to value that beauty, and help others come to appreciate it. What an impressive thing to have contributed to the beauty in this world. We need more Lawrences in this world!

Lawrence Jepson had quite a sense of humor. One time when we were visiting his home in the company of my cousin Boyd, his son-in-law, he told the following story. His phone number was only one digit away from the security phone number at the local shopping mall. That meant that all too often He would answer the phone only to have someone scream, get me security! Rather than getting annoyed he said he would just answer innocently, aren't you secure? I don't suppose it helped the situation at the mall, but it kept him from getting angry and upset at people who couldn't seem to dial the right number.
