1924 ~ 2016
Our dear sweet mother and grandmother Barbara Marie Stucki Anderson, 91, passed away peacefully in Pleasant Grove, Utah on September 1, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on October 3, 1924 in Salt Lake City Utah to William Theophil Stucki and Lucy Marie Sorensen Stucki. She graduated from East High School and attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. She married Richmond Meldrum Anderson in the Salt Lake Temple on July 31, 1945. Barbara and Richmond lived in various homes in California, Wyoming and Utah.
She loved enjoyed teaching children's art, creative stitchery, home decoration, creating hand built ceramics, gardening and accompanying her husband on trips with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She was involved with the La Leche League. When her children were in school, she went back to college and became a registered dietician, where she was able to guide many into quality eating patterns. She loved the LDS church and people and served in a variety of callings. She especially enjoyed teaching a Home Nursing course to Relief Society women.
She is survived by her four children: Nancy (Lee) Koehler, Sharon (Greg) Barlow, Douglas (Susan) Anderson and Joyce (Steven) Shumway, 17 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richmond, her parents, two sisters Margaret Stucki Christensen and Bonnie Stucki Gudmundson and brother Richard Stucki.
The family would like to express appreciation to the wonderful caregivers at Lakeview Elderly Care where Barbara lived for the past nine years, along with A+ Hospice who made it easier on our family to know she was well cared for, especially in the last week of her life. She was grateful to each of you and all you did for her.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at the American Fork 20th LDS Ward Chapel, 825 East 500 North, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
