Donald James Searle 3/10/1922 ~ 12/2/2007 "Together Again" Donald James Searle, 85, our revered father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2007 to return to his Heavenly Father, wife and family waiting for him.He was born March 10, 1922 to Heber James Searle and Edith Fitzgerald. He married his sweetheart Norma Andrew in the Salt Lake Temple, June 3, 1946. They were married for 61 years. Don was a respected banker in Utah, California, and Nevada. He served in the Navy during World War II. In athletics he excelled as a pitcher for the minor league team of the New York Yankees and was involved in numerous sports. Don was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in all organizations including bishop and temple worker. He will be remembered for his adoration and love for his wife, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma, son Troy and great granddaughter Sarah. Don leaves behind his daughters, Shaunie Davis, Dawna McClain, Michelle Hooper, son Kit, sisters, Ardith Derrick, Lorraine Bailess, and Nadine Van Corler, 16 grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Funeral Services will be held Sat. December 8th, at 11:30 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy. A Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday.
