Frank Edward Lund "The Candy Man" Frank Edward Lund passed away tranquilly in the comfort of his home on Sunday, February 6th, 2011 at the age of 80. Frank was born at home in Ogden, Utah on February 26th, 1930 into the loving arms of Petra Martine Miller Lund and Carl Christian Albert Alexander Lund. He was the seventh of nine children. Frank graduated from Ogden High School class of '48, he participated in football and wrestling and was referred to as "Ball of Fire Lund" by his peers. He served a two and a half year LDS mission in Denmark from where both his parents had migrated to Utah, as converts to the LDS church. He attended Ricks Jr. College on a football scholarship, Weber College and graduated with an MBA from Utah State University. He married his sweetheart and eternal loving companion Marilyn Jane Stettler on June 1st, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple. Frank was enlisted in the US army, where he served as a political science instructor at Ft. Knox. Frank was a professional personnel administrator, industrial and employee relations, management development, training both for the LDS church, Thiokol, Pfizer, Northrop, Saudi American Bank, Olayian and other major companies. He spent over 25 years in the Middle East during his 45 year career, where he developed his love for the Saudi people and their culture. Frank was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in all its auxiliaries such as Stake Mission President in Chicago and Bishop in Camarillo, Calif. Frank loved his family more than anything else. He was a loyal friend, a productive employee, director, a faithful and helpful husband, a loving father and grandfather. His pride and joy was helping those in need and service, service, service! He looked forward to attending his church meetings every Sunday and his temple work. His hobbies included: fishing, hunting, gardening and temple work. Frank is survived by his daughter Connie, son Michael; grandchildren Nichole, Austin, Max and Madeline. He is also survived by his sisters Lillian Coburn of Laie, Hawaii; Marian Perrenoud of Idaho Falls; and brother Norman of Ogden. Frank is preceded in death by his loving wife Marilyn Jane, son Daniel, brothers: Marvin, David, Winton, and Brian "Bud" along with his sister Evelyn. Viewing will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011, in the Monument Park 9th ward chapel, 1565 S. Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City from 6-8 p.m. and again on Friday one hour prior to the services. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Monument Park 9th ward followed by burial services at Logan City Cemetery. In honor of Frank's lifetime of service and generosity the family is accepting donations to the Frank E. Lund Family through US Bank.
