Liliah Dilg Obituary

Liliah R.Dilg 9/1/21 ~ 11/21/02  Liliah Rogers Dilg passed away Thursday, November 21, 2002 at the Brigham City Hospital. Liliah was born Sept 1, 1921 in Pima, AZ a daughter of Janetta Lamb and Joseph Roseberry Rogers. She graduated from Pima High School in 1939. Afterwards she attended Gila Jr. College then Arizona Vocational School, Phoenix, where she received her diploma in commercial dressmaking. She was an excellent seamstress and made all of her clothes from dresses to coats. She was employed at Goodyear Aircraft running a power sewing machine and put insulation and upholstery in planes. It was there that she met her husband, William Alan Dilg. They were married Dec 10, 1942, Glendale, AZ. Their marriage was sealed for eternity in the Arizona Mesa LDS Temple April 3, 1946. They moved often throughout their married lives, Arizona; New Mexico; Malta, ID; Quincy, WA; Little Rock, AR; Castle Rock, CO; Oregon; and finally, in their later years, they built their last home in Willard, UT. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in various positions in the Primary and Relief Society. With her husband she served three missions, Saskatchewan, Canada Mission (Native Americans); and two in Salt Lake City for the church's tax department. While serving in Salt Lake City she helped Elder Sterling W. Sill of the Quorum of the Seventy as a reader for him when he became unable to see. In her later years she spent many hours working from her home doing extraction work for the church Family History program. Liliah enjoyed sewing, especially making block quilts for every new born baby that she heard about, and aprons for departing missionaries. She also looked forward to every canning season. She was a devoted mother and loved her family very much. She was the mother of five boys, William Joseph, Oregon City, OR, John Alan, Eugene, OR, Danny, Rear-den, WA, Clyde Howard, Hillsboro, OR, Carl Wayne, Brigham City, UT; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her life has been exemplary to all who ever knew or met her. Services will be Tues. Nov 26, 2002 1 p.m. Willard LDS Stake Center, 685 W. 2250 S, Perry, UT. Friends may call at the stake center Tues. 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Interment, Willard City Cemetery. Directors, Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City.
