Bob and I served together in the Utah National Guard's 23rd Army Band. The music was terrific and the camaraderie was uplifting. We often took our families with us when we did short Utah trips. Marilyn and Bob were an important part of the Band family. The rebellious attitudes of the sixties and seventies were evident even in our military service. We had fun, we served our country and state, we played, we worked. We were soldiers, we were friends. Thanks for all the Hixon family did to connect and uplift my life and the lives of thousands of other people. Mike Cottam

Bob Hixson was the Man! Considerate and caring, got a little ticked when we horsed around too much (we deserved it :---). But owe a lot to him for the format he provided us to rock out in pep band! Took us to Reno NV and Chaffey CA to compete in Jazz Band and wow, he was a heck of a trumpet player! Love Bob Hixson, he was my friend! Brian Moser (HHS 1973-1976)
