Twila Nielsen Anderson 1918 ~ 2007 Twila Nielsen Anderson passed away June 27, 2007 from complications of a stroke. She was born in Midview, Utah January 14, 1918 an identical twin daughter of Orson C. and Kate L. Musig Nielsen. At the age of 11, her family moved to Hollywood, California where she graduated from high school with honors. She graduated from Stevens-Henager College and was employed with various departments of the United States Government for 21 years, retiring in 1971. On Nov. 6, 1942 she married Harold H. Frederick in Logan LDS Temple; they were divorced. Twila later married Leonard M. Dutson December 2, 1967; he passed away March 21, 1971. Twila spent the next years taking care of her parents in Vernal, Utah and then moved back to her home in Rose Park bringing her mother with her. Twila married A. Newel Anderson March 21, 1974. They spent many happy years together traveling to Oregon and playing musical instruments. Newel passed away Aug. 10, 1991. Twila enjoyed music, helping others, playing board games with neighborhood children and genealogy. Twila was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had the opportunity of serving in many positions in the various auxiliaries and she served as a missionary in Las Vegas, Nevada. Twila had a stroke in December 2001 and from that time was cared for by family members. Twila is survived by her brother, LaMar (Olive) Nielsen, Roosevelt; twin sister. Lila (Sharon) Meacham, Salt Lake; sisters, Emeretta N. (Frank, deceased) Westergard, Farr West, and Eloise (Bob, deceased) Turner, Vernal. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Milton (Kenna Faye) and Neldon (Mary) Nielsen of North Salt Lake; and sisters, Maurice (Arvene) Cooper, and Lois (Reed) Stansfield, Bridgeland. While Twila was not blessed with children of her own, she is survived by a stepson; stepdaughter; and three step-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who have enjoyed her love of music, her passion of family history, and her company. Family and friends are welcomed to visit at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Monday, July 2, 2007 from 10-11:15 a.m. with a short service following at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Dr. The family wishes to thank those who have been a part of Twila's life. A special thank you to Mary Nielsen and Emeretta Westergard for handling Twila's business affairs these past years. A heartfelt thanks to Dale and Margie Wyler and their family who have been Twila's caregivers since her stroke and hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Perpetual Education Fund.
