April 5, 1954 ~ July 2, 2013
I was born April 5, 1954 to Castle and LaRae Child. Would that most could be so fortunate as I. I was twice blessed in finding the great love of my life, and soul mate. I married Karen Mitchell Child on February 7, 1987. My run ended July 2, 2013 due to complications arising during my 4th open heart surgery. But it was a great run. I was told early in life I had a "bum ticker" and decided come what may, to grab life by its throat and let no moss grow beneath me. I so tried to read it all and see it all. I learned of that special love for animals at my father's feet. Karen's arrival in my life drove that love to a passion I relished. I had my best friend and my soul mate by my side. Their constant love an support gave me my passport to travel the world.
I was, maybe I still am, a Master Judge, but more importantly I was a husband and companion, son, brother, uncle, and I tried to be that friend that so many were to me. I hope I remembered to tell each of you how important you were to me and how much I loved each of you.
I was preceded in death by my mother, LaRae. I'm survived by my great love and soul mate, Karen, best friend and father, Cass, loving sister, Vickie (Kurt), adored niece, Adrien (Michael), loved nephew, Tyson (Adrienne), and wondrous grandniece, Madison.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 20th, at 3:00 p.m. Please contact Karen or family member for further details.
In lieu of flowers, there has been established a fund at US Bank in the name of Bradley Ryan Child.

Dear Karen, Brad will always be with us, alive in our memories about a wonderful man, a thinker - full of humor, knowing how to enjoy live with good friends. Over here in Germany we know Brad and you since so many years. As sad as we are to be never again able to enjoy a good party with Brad as thankful we are, that we were honored to know him and that we had the opportunity to spend so many quality hours of intensive live and fun with him. He was truly a GREAT GUY, whom we will always keep in our heart as our best friend from USA.
Karen, our door over here in Germany is always open for you and we are looking forward to your next visit.

Karen, Brad was one mellow dude. I always felt comfortable around him. He made anyone feel like they were his friend. Although I have not seen him in a while, I do have fun memories of parties that we all at Nac used to have. Brad will be missed.

Dear Karen,
the message of your husband's death has shocked all of us.
It is just a half year ago, when we met you and Brad. It was a nice evening, we laughed so much together.
What remains are the memories of Brad, especially his calmness, his humor and his excellent jokes.
We think of you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glint on snow,

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain,
I am the shining star at night,
When you awake to the morning light.

My time has come, I am at rest,
I am the sunset in the west,
I am the clouds that race above,
Where I watch over those I love.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I do not die,
So hear these words that here I say,
I am the love that guides your way.

Dear Karen and family,
Our commiserations on your bereavement. We highly respected Brad. We will perpetuate his memory and the memory to the days with him and you in December 2012. Our thoughts and prayers got out to you.

Dear Karen,
My prayers are with you as well as Cass, Jack and Maggie. I can honestly say that Brad lived and he lived well. Some of my fondest memories are the times we spent together in places like Jackpot, Filer, Blackfoot, SLC, Chicago, Louisville, New York and points between.
Everything Brad did, he did well. I got to watch him judge birds and dogs alike. He had a good eye and knew the importance of finding good breeding stock. I am truly proud to call both of you friends and I'm proud of what you've both accomplished.
I wonder if Famous Sammy has an establishment on the other side?

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about Brad.... I know it's going to be tough for you, but I also know you are a tough cookie. Last I saw you was at Elaine Blacks funeral, and now, well, it's just sad that the next time I see you will be at Brads wake. We were a close bunch at NAC. Lots of good times, and good memories. May God bless you...

Dear Karen and Cass:
It was a privilege to work side by side with Brad for so many years. He was always a forward-looking dreamer... if the dream changed from time to time, with Karen's full support, he threw himself into making that next dream come true.

I am so glad he became a Master Judge. That was one of the dreams I knew about.

Uncle Brad,

We can't even begin to express how much it has meant to us to become close to you and Aunt Karen. What an amazing example you set of love and respect for each other. This is one of the many traits that we will forever remember you for. Our little Maxx loved you, from the first time he saw you he seemed to be drawn to you. Thank you for all of your love and support through all of his medical needs, I don't know how we would have made it through all of that without yours and Karen's love and support.

We will forever hold memories of you close.

Love

Dave, Marnie, Caleb and Maxx

What a beautiful life story told by Brad of the love and passion he had for you and his every day life. I am so glad you had him for as long as you did and know he will be in your heart and soul forever. Many people never have the opportunity to share the kind of love the two of you had and I know he will always be a part of you. He was an amazing man and an example to all of us as to how we should live our lives and love our family and friends. So sorry to hear of his passing.
