Joseph Samuel Hill 1922 ~ 2010 Joseph Samuel Hill died December 6, 2010 of complications following a stroke. He was born September 28, 1922 in Bonneville County, Idaho to Samuel A Hill and Priscilla Belle Phillips. He was the third of six children. He lived much of his life in Fruit Heights, Utah and the last eight years in Sandy, Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a missionary in the Central State Mission, the Family History Library and the LDS Church Historical Museum. Among other callings in the church he was a member of the Tabernacle Choir and served on the Stake High Council, Bishop, and Stake Patriarch. He was married to Margaret Pincock (1946 - 2000) and Clara Judd (2002 - 2010). He was a school teacher by profession, teaching in Bonneville County, Idaho and Davis County, Utah. He loved carpentry and milking his cows. He had a beautiful voice, singing in public every chance he got. He was a veteran serving in the US Navy during World War II. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sandy Utah Crescent 11th Ward, 116 East 11400 South. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, So. Ogden. Condolences may be shared at:

To the Joseph Hill Family, We were saddend to hear about the passing of Bishop / Patriarch Joseph Hill. We hope you know the Hill's have been great friends, neighbors and mentors to the Jay Green Family over the years. Especially for Ellison and I being able to receive our particial blessings from Brother Hill. Also in later years having the oppertunity to serve with Sam, Becky and their families in the Layton South Stake. Please know of our love for your family and that you are in our prayers during this time.

I love you Uncle Joe. You blessed my life significantly. Your home was filled with a very warm spirit. I loved your sense of humor. I loved your occasional blessings. I am soo glad you were there to take care of Aunt Claire. She loved you so very much.
