John Todd Huish returned peacefully to Heavenly Father on April 19th after fighting a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Provo on September 3, 1951 to John and Fawn Huish. Todd grew up locally and graduated valedictorian of Orem High in 1969. He served an honorable mission in the Ohio-West Virginia Mission. Upon returning he went to BYU receiving both a BS and MBA degree. He met and married Sann his beautiful bride of 42 years at BYU. Todd grew up working in and eventually took over the family business, Huish's which was founded in 1936. Todd was known for his hard work ethic, his kindness to customers, his compassion to employees, and his devotion to family throughout his time at Huish's. His wife and kids continue his tradition in the family business.
Todd was 1 of 4 siblings; Sherri (Brad) Olson, Scott Huish, and Jacqueline (Matthew) Durant. He loved his 5 children Heather (David) Sturgill, Jason (Kristy) Huish, Ashley (Eric) Tobler, Haley (Jared) Donaldson, and McKay (Ashley) Huish. He cherished each of his 13 amazing grandchildren. Todd is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Scott.
Todd loved the Lord and served in many church callings throughout life including multiple bishoprics and scouting positions. He is remembered for his simple loving testimony and his kind gracious nature which disarmed and welcomed all he touched. Todd loved baseball, basketball, football, and BYU Sports. He loved spending time with his family in the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, a continued extended family tradition. Todd touched the lives of so many with genuine love, friendship, and generosity.
We miss our husband, father, brother, and friend. We're grateful to know he continues to touch mortal lives through us, and bless others throughout immortality. We look forward to our reunion in the future, sitting under the celestial awnings he's made.
His viewing is Monday, April 24 at Walker Sanderson Mortuary at 646 E 800 N in Orem from 6-8 pm. His funeral is Tuesday, April 25 at 11 am at the LDS church on 1051 E 200 N in Orem.
