Ronald Seeley Obituary

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Ronald Don Seeley returned to his heavenly home Tuesday December 8, 2020. He will be greatly missed.

He was born August 30, 1942 to Don and Fay Seeley in Moroni, Utah. He always said I was born in my Dads month and moms day.

In his youth, he became an Eagle Scout. He had a dog-named Spot that he loved very much. He loved to herd sheep with his grampa Seely. He also loved the many summers he spent working on his Uncle Burt's farm in Mount Pleasant, Utah. This became his second home and second family. He liked anything to do with farming. He also liked to tinker with cars and any type of mechanical things.

Later in his youth, he served a mission for the LDS Church to the New York/Eastern States mission. On that mission, he met his sweetheart Patty Ann. He asked her to wait for him to finish his mission. She did and they later got married in the Salt Lake Temple November 20, 1964 by Thomas S. Monson. Shortly after that he joined the Utah Army National Guard where he proudly served our country his entire career. He retired as Command Sargent Major.

It wasn't too long before their family began to grow. They were blessed with three girls- Wendy, Tracey and Jodi, who gave them plenty of "adventures."

He loved camping with his family. He taught his girls how to fish, he was patient when they would throw rocks into the lake scaring all the fish away and taught us that it was okay to use leaves as toilet paper. His favorite place to camp was in the beautiful Uintah Mountains. He loved to travel, tell stores-especially stories about family genealogy and hunting with his dad and brothers. He was also a very good Artist. He loved model trains and building small scale layouts.

He was a good and faithful servant of the Lord. He served his entire life in the LDS Church in many different capacities. He was honest in all his dealings with his fellowmen. In his later years, he served a Service Mission for the church at Deseret Book. He never turned down an opportunity to serve. His most recent service was a temple worker in the Draper Temple. Serving in the Temple brought him such great joy. He was a perfect example of selfless love and always put others first. He always gave to others and we are honored to have had him in our lives. He was such a blessing.

Preceded in death by his parents Don & Fay Seeley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Pat. Daughters Wendy (Kelly) Love, Tracey (Rick) Call and Jodi Luck.

Grandchildren who he loved so much are Jorey (Hitomi) Love, Kasey Love, Kobey Love, Tricia (Brodey) Moon, Shelby Call, Ashley Call, Zach Luck, Cannon Luck, Kanyon Rasmussen.

Great grandchildren who were the apple of his eye are Triton Love, Maia Love, Kaito Love, Makenzley Rasmussen and Paisley Rasmussen. Also survived by Brother Brent (Sue) Seeley.

We didn't have you nearly long enough but we treasured the time we had. You will be truly missed but you will be forever in our hearts.

We Love you Daddy!!!!

Ron was one of my dearest friends that I worked with back in the day on Sunnyside Ave, when ever I saw him he always greeted me with "Hello Doc" a hold over nick name from when I was a Medic. He was one of the finest men I have ever had the good fortune to serve with, and I know he will be dearly missed by all of his Guard family as well as his own family. Blessing to Pat and his wonderful family.

I have very fond memories of My cousin Ronnie. We were quite close until we both married and started raising families. Our involvement after that unfortunately was infrequent. He was the oldest in a fairly large group Seeley related cousins. My most vivid remembrance of him was his innate loving and caring nature. I am confident that he inherited those traits from his loving and caring parents Uncle Don and Aunt Fay.

My condolences to Pat and his entire family.

"The best portion of a good man's life are his little mostly unremembered acts of kindness and love." -- William Wordsworth. Ronnie was a good man. He is missed already.

Ron was a dear and special friend of our family and played a vital role in bringing my family into the Church. He was an amazing man and had a wonderful sense of humor that we all loved. I have very fond memories of him and his family growing up in Sandy as neighbors. My deepest condolences to Pat, Wendy, Tracey and Jodi. May God bless and comfort you all at this difficult time.
