Peter Miover, 73, died at his home in Boone on January 31, 2014. A Funeral Mass is Thursday, February 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Boone. Burial is in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Boone.
Peter Edward Miover was born in Ogden, Iowa, on July 8, 1940, the son of Dewayne and Mary (Burke) Miover. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1959. On November 4, 1978, Peter married Helen Ireland at Corning. In earlier years, Peter worked as a Technician Aide in the Detoxification Center at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. He then worked for the City of Des Moines as a parking attendant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister Patricia Norbom, and grandson Anthony Ross. Survivors include three sons, Peter (Danielle) Miover of Sigourney, Patrick (Robyn) Miover of Boone, and Mark (Wanda) Ross of Ogden; two daughters, LeAnne (Bill) Kinney and Elizabeth (Brian) Anderson, all of Boone; two sisters Michelle (Michael) Stanley of Marshalltown and Christine (Edward) Perry of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall in Boone on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
