Steven Pierce
West Des Moines
Steven L. (Steve) Pierce, 69, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, from cancer.
Steve served in the U.S. Navy for four years, stationed in California and Hawaii. He was discharged in 1968.
Steve worked as the Chief Draftsman for Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. prior to retirement in 1993. One of Steve's main projects with V&K was in the growth planning of the City of Waukee, IA, where he also raised his family. Steve also spent his time as a Mason and was a member of Masonic Lodge #80, Adel, Iowa.
Survivors include his daughters Denise (Steve) Rockwell and Stacey (Ben) Siefken; former spouse Connie Pierce; four grandchildren, Pierce and Braeden Rockwell and Kennedy and Delaney Siefken; three brothers, Jack Pierce, Donald "Donnie" Pierce, John Pierce (Elaine Shaw); one sister Anita (Loren) Kuiper. He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Howard and Althea Pierce, brother Keith Pierce, and sister Dorothy Pierce.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at the McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at McCalley Funeral Home where family will greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Uncle Steve was quick with a joke, always had good humer and I never heard him complain! He was just a good man all around.When I was a boy he was my hero and he still is! Steve I will miss you forever.
