Merlin Davis
Perry
Merlin, 87, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Rowley Masonic Home in Perry. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 after 12 p.m. with the family present after 6 p.m. A Masonic Service will be at 8 p.m. all at Hastings Funeral Home, Perry. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church Thursday, April 4, 2013. Burial with full Military Honors will be at Violet Hill Cemetery. Merlin was a Navy Veteran of WWII after which he joined the Iowa Army National Guard. He was discharged from the US Army in 1991 with over 42 years of Military Service, retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major. Merlin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nellie; two daughters, Cinda B. Mathis (Kent) of La Feria, TX; and Lila M. Robb of Bouton; son Keith L. Davis (Denise) of Ankeny; eight grandchildren; twelve great- grandchildren and one great- great granddaughter; brother Roger Davis (Gladys) of Winfield and sister Loris Wiley (Vernon) of Fairfield.
