Karol L. (Bosworth) DeBolt Robbins
Des Moines
Karol Lee Robbins, 67, was born January 1, 1946 in Des Moines, the daughter of Harry and Agnes (Nittler) Bosworth. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Thursday, September 12, 2013 at UnityPoint Health Des Moines Methodist after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Karol retired from Des Moines University after 30 years of faithful service. She also owned and operated the Dinner Bell at the Iowa State Fair for 27 years.
Karol is survived by her loving husband, Tom Robbins; children, Kimberlee (DeBolt) Sams, Tommy Robbins and Rusti Robbins; grandchildren, Kristopher, Kasi, Kelsie and Tanner; great-grandchildren, Jayce, Gage, Logan, Nova, Kaden, Shilah and Desi; sister, Karen (Jay) Knight; "big brother," Jack McCuen; ex-husband and close friend, David (Jacque) DeBolt; other loving relatives and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy DeBolt and granddaughter, Kallie.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Karol, I was at the Fair this past August and you weren't there. All those memories of seeing you and Tom at the Dinner Bell hit me hard. I miss you and think of you often. I know I have a special angel in heaven keeping an eye on me and the kids. I love you girl and say hi to Cherese too.

Kim I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I know we haven't talked in a long time but we were sisters once. All I can say is ONE DAY AT A TIME. Be the best mom and grandma u can because u know that's what she would want. I promise she will be watching over all of you.

Tom, Kim, family and friends. What a blessing it was to have Karol in our world and what a loss now that she has gone. She lived, loved, and laughed, sharing her lust for life with so many people. She will be deeply missed. May God bless Karol and share His grace as we remember this wonderful woman. Rest in peace Cuz.

Haven't seen much of Karol since graduation, ran into her a few times when I went to the doctor at DMU. We grew up together on the southside, so sorry to hear of her passing. My sympathy goes out to her family.

My prayers go out to Tom and the family. I worked with Karol and her son Randy so many years ago and was grateful to spend time with her again while I worked at DMU . Karol was a one of a kind Great lady . Tom you brought so much joy to her life.What a wonderful couple you were. Those we love never truly leave us , they live in our hearts forever .
